We Are the Church
The Lord’s hand is with us.
“The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.” Acts 11:21 (NIV)
When I read the book of Acts, I’m reminded that the hand of the Lord wasn’t resting on a building. It wasn’t resting on an organization. It was resting on ordinary believers who loved Jesus enough to tell others about Him.
Those who were scattered by persecution didn’t stop being the church because they left Jerusalem. Everywhere they went, they carried the presence of Jesus with them. They preached the gospel, made disciples, loved people, and pointed them to Jesus.
The church wasn’t left behind. They were the church.
Sometimes I think we unintentionally reduce the church to a place we attend for an hour each week. We talk about “going to church” when Scripture reminds us that we are the church.
We Are The Church. Doesn’t that change everything?
If I am the church, then my calling isn’t limited to Sunday mornings. I am the bride of Christ, eagerly awaiting the return of my Bridegroom. Until He comes, I have been entrusted with His mission.
Jesus told us to “go and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19). That commission belongs to every believer. My responsibility is to point people to Jesus, speak the truth in love, and encourage others to walk in joyful obedience to God’s Word.
People don’t need to see more of me. They need to see more of Jesus.
Every conversation becomes an opportunity to reflect His grace. Every act of kindness becomes a chance to demonstrate His love. Every relationship becomes a place where the gospel can be lived out and shared.
I want my life to boldly proclaim that Jesus is my first love.
I want the hand of the Lord to be upon my life. Not so others will notice me, but so they will see Jesus in me.
I want to faithfully extend His love wherever I go, trusting that God still changes hearts through ordinary people who are fully surrendered to Him.
The Lord has entrusted each of us with gifts; not for our own benefit, but to serve others well. Every act of encouragement, every word of truth, every expression of compassion, every opportunity to teach, give, lead, or simply love someone is an opportunity to display the grace of God.
As the church, we are called to faithfully steward what He has placed in our hands.
My gifts are not mine to keep; they are mine to give away. They are meant to point people to Jesus, strengthen His people, and reach those who have yet to know Him.
I want to be found faithfully using every gift God has given me to serve others well. If the hand of the Lord is with me, then my life should reflect His heart, extend His love, and lead others to follow Him.
The question isn’t whether I attended church Sunday. The question is:
Am I living as the church today?
Am I loving as Jesus loved? Am I speaking the truth in love? Am I using the gifts He has entrusted to me to serve others well? Am I making disciples and pointing people back to Him? Am I living with the expectation that Jesus could return at any moment?
If each of us would honestly answer those questions and then live as though our King is coming soon, change would come. Not because of better programs or bigger buildings, but because God’s people would once again live as His church.
Revival doesn’t begin somewhere else. It begins with willing hearts surrendered to Jesus.
It begins with me. It begins with you. We are the church.
The church is not the building where I worship.
The church is the person I am becoming because I belong to Jesus.
So today, I choose to be the church. To love like Jesus. To speak His truth with compassion. To make disciples. To point people back to Him.
And may it be said of my life what was said of those believers in Antioch:
“The Lord’s hand was with them.”
Loving Father, let Your hand be upon my life. Help me to live as Your church, faithfully stewarding every gift You have given me, boldly proclaiming Jesus as my first love, and extending Your love everywhere I go until You come again.
Dear heart, God called you so that your community can be transformed through your faithful obedience. I don’t know whose heart He is preparing or whose life He intends to change. I simply want to be faithful. I want to live as His church, steward the gifts He has entrusted to me, and leave the harvest in His hands.
Thank you for joining me in this corner of the internet where Jesus’ love compels us to live for Him and to share the Good News wherever He leads us. Pull out a chair and linger in His presence.

Yes! Find me faithful. Beautiful writing💜
