I Trust God's Timing
Taking one faithful step at a time.
It is often when we get to the edge of a breakthrough that we find ourselves immobilized by fear. But God never promised to light the entire staircase before we reach the top.
Psalm 119:105 (NLT) says, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”
With each step of faith, the next rung is revealed. That means we must keep moving and trust Him to lead and direct us.
This week, I found myself overwhelmed by the weight of a project God has been unfolding step by step. The designs, the ideas, the direction — none of it came from me. I know that. And yet, when I considered the cost of manufacturing and printing, fear tried to take over.
Then, at 12:12 AM, a notification lit up my phone. Jack W. Guffey had just read a note I wrote containing this Scripture:
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32
Fear loses its grip when we remember Whose flock we belong to.”
In that moment I heard Holy Spirit whisper, “Have I left you hungry? Have I not provided everything you need? Then trust Me to bring the people across your path who will support what I’ve asked you to do. There are people waiting to be richly blessed by your obedience. Fear not little flock. I am your Father and it pleases Me to give you the kingdom.”
He then reminded me of the encouragement my sister, Nancy, offered. “For such a time as this! Everything you experienced in the past was the groundwork for such a time as this.”
Isaiah teaches us that God’s Word is purposeful and effective. “It is the same with My Word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” Isaiah 55:11
Isn’t He good? His Word will not return void. I KNOW, that I KNOW, that to be true. (In honor of the late Dr. William Darryl Scott Sr. who always said, “When you know, that you know, God is good, nothing else matters.”)
I also know that fear will attempt to rear its ugly head again and when it does, I return to the Word hidden in my heart.
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
I walk in His timing. His reassurance. His peace.
We don’t discern God’s timing by seeing the whole plan. We discern it by taking the step He already illuminated.
His Word confirms the direction.
His peace steadies our hearts.
His provision aligns what we cannot orchestrate.
His preparation shapes us for the assignment.
When all four align, we’re walking in His timing.
The light of day has been filled with prayer and wise counsel. My heart rests in knowing that God didn’t ask me to fund the vision; He asked me to follow it.
His provision often shows up after I take the step, not before it.
So, if you find yourself on the boarder of a breakthrough,
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3
Loving Father, thank You for lighting my path one step at a time. Thank You for reminding me that I am Your child, Your little flock, and it pleases You to give me the kingdom. When fear rises, anchor me in Your Word. When doubt whispers, remind me of Your faithfulness. Help me trust Your timing, Your provision, and Your heart. I choose obedience over fear. I choose faith over uncertainty. I choose You.
Dear heart, take one step today, just one, toward what God has placed in your heart. You don’t need the whole staircase. You just need the next rung.
Thank you for joining me in this corner of the internet where I always thank my God for you because of His grace given you in Christ Jesus. Pull out a chair and linger in His presence. It’s my pleasure to walk this journey with you.

Do it afraid.
We’re on the same wavelength with message today, Cathy! My freeing verse Friday was Psalm 138:8 😊
